Advance Testing Company, Inc.
Advance Testing Company, Inc.
For over 23 years, Advance Testing Company, Inc. has provided construction materials testing and inspection services for some of the largest public and private construction projects in the United States, including the Central Artery/Tunnel in Boston, the largest public works project in the US to date. We have worked extensively throughout the Northeast, serving clients such as the New York City DO...T, Port Authority of NY and NJ, the New York State DOT, the Massachusetts Highway Department, and the Connecticut DOT. Our services include both field and laboratory testing and inspection of concrete, soil, asphalt, structural steel, welding, fireproofing and pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete.
Staffing projects throughout the US and Canada, Advance Testing is centrally located in Campbell Hall, NY, approximately an hour and a half from both New York City and Albany. Our corporate headquarters, built in 1999 to meet the needs of our rapidly growing company, houses a state-of-the-art laboratory accredited by several organizations, including AASHTO and the Army Corps of Engineers.
For the past several years, via a custom-made scheduling and database program that affords us maximum control and flexibility, we have maintained and scheduled a staff of over 75 highly trained technicians working on more than 500 separate projects. While our flexibility is one of our strengths, our success over the years had been largely attributed to a strong commitment to the same policies and procedures that have been central to our approach since the company was founded, the most important of which is a firm dedication to customer service.
Openings Available: Job openings available for March-August, May-December, August-December or possibly full-time for the right candidate.
Advance Testing Company, Inc. trains and certifies co-op employees to perform commercial construction materials testing and inspection on soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt and structural steel. As the schedule permits, co-ops are rotated between field inspection assignments and lab testing assignments to ensure a well- rounded training process.
Once properly trained and certified, co-op employees are considered full-fledged engineering technicians. As technicians, they are dispatched throughout our area of coverage, which includes but is not restricted to the tri-state area and New England. Examples of types of projects co-ops would be assigned to in the field include: highways, bridges, commercial buildings, airports and fabrication plants.
In addition to this field work, co-ops are trained to perform a variety of material testing procedures in the lab at our company headquarters. This element of training ensures a well-rounded understanding of the properties of construction materials and the standards by which they are evaluated.
Advance Testing Company, Inc. co-ops are provided housing near the company headquarters. Upon completion of their 3 or 6-month employment with Advance Testing Company, Inc., co-ops take with them a number of nationally recognized certifications and a valuable list of contacts from construction and engineering companies of all sizes.
